The new Marknesser Bridge was taken into use in Emmeloord. The design integrates architecture and technology into a worthy, iconic city gate. Thanks to solar panels on both balance and hameien, the bridge is also virtually energy neutral.
PT-Structural made the static and fatigue calculations of the steelwork.
The old Marknesser bridge, a traditional drawbridge, was due for replacement. In order to improve traffic flow and traffic safety, the new bridge over the Lemstervaart did not only have to have exposed cycle paths on both sides, the clearance was also increased by approximately one meter.
