The steel structure of the fixed, slow traffic bridge is planned for the development of the Driebergen-Zeist station area. The station is located on the Utrecht-Arnhem rail route.
The bridge is primarily intended for cyclists. The main shape and main dimensions are determined by Arcadis architects.
The bridge is entirely manufactured by Jos van de Bersselaar Constructie BV. The construction consists of a welded plate construction, equipped with the necessary safety provisions. After the production of the parts, it was assembled and transported as a whole to the construction site.
Due to the very slender design, the bridge was vibration sensitive (1.8 Hz). To get the bridge out of the vibration sensitive zone, the bridge is clamped on the abutment at one side. At the other end the bridge is supported by rubber blocks. The defenit natural frequency is 2.9 Hz.
- Bridge construction length: 30.7 meters.
- Bridge construction width: 3000 mm (center) and 4000 mm (for the supports), dimensions on the outside of the construction.
- Bridge construction height: approx. 530 mm (center) and 835 mm (at the supports).
